Marc Sparks Inspires Many Startup Entrepreneurs

Marc Sparks is a businessman, author, philanthropist, life enthusiast and mentor to many small businesses. He is an American citizen who resides in Dallas, Texas. Marc’s business interests are in the telecommunication and real estate industries. He was at one point with the Splash Media and Blue Jay Wireless. He is the CEO of Timber Creek Capital, an equity firm that he founded and owns.

Through the Timber Creek Capital, Marc has helped many passionate startup entrepreneurs in bringing their ideas to life. The firm provides the startups with capital, human resource, expertise, entrepreneurial advice, office space, and all the other fundamental necessities for the day-to-day running of business. They Can’t Eat You

Marc boasts of over 40 years of experience in the startup businesses industry. Throughout the years, he has tasted both success and failure in equal measure. Recently, Marc decided to share his experience with the world through his book; They Can’t Eat You.

In the book, he describes all his successful and unsuccessful business ventures. He talks about his software company with $200 million annual sales and his one billion holding company loss. At the end of it all, however, Marc believes that entrepreneurs will have more to learn from his failures than successes.


Marc Sparks is a firm believer in the art of giving back to society. For close to thirty years now, he has actively been involving himself with a Dallas homeless shelter called The Samaritan Inn. The inn hosts about 160 people on a daily basis for an average stay period of five months.

Habitat for Humanity is another organization that Marc supports. Through the organization, he has funded the construction of several homes in Dallas. Marc has also immensely supported education programs for the poor.

He funds the American Can! Academy and Sparky’s Kids Foundation. Through the Sparky Kids Foundation, he provides kids from low-income families with computers with the aim of helping them to escape poverty in the future.

Life Enthusiasm

Outside of business, Marc spends his free time doing outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and hunting. As a way of keeping fit, Marc enjoys working out as well as participating in sports like biking and golf. Marc is an adventurous person. He has traveled far and wide in search of adventure, with some of the notable places he has visited being Serengeti, Machu Picchu, and the Easter Island.
